West Ryde
Nicely turned out - I like the beer garden.

West Ryde

At the time of our review visit, The West Ryde's bistro was undergoing some renovation, which was a shame, because I could have just done with some food at that point. That said, it's a fairly impressive pub, from the swaky front bar through to the small, vine festooned beer garden. Up front it almost has the feel of a city-centre yuppie bar, and the clientele today (saturday afternoon) seems to be the 30-40 crowd plus, with the odd younger face scattered around the pool table. Out back is a more restrained, British style room leading onto the bistro. It's certainly spacious, and it needs to be - there aren't a whole lot of other pubs in the immediate area, but far from restaing on their laurels the owners of the West Ryde are making a real effort to keep the pub looking good for the punters. Not bad at all...

Oh yes, I should add that "West Ryde" is about as "North Shore", as Bermagui.

I once found myself there, well, actually it was more a hellish, introverted self-loathing appraisal brought on by my disbelief that I would willingly subject myself to the weird, non descript air about the place. Is that sentence too long?

A shocker! My local and they have gone for "poncy City type Bar" where "relaxed local Pub" is required. I guess it isn't too bad but the lighting is way too bright - pubs should be dim. It is like drinking in the Dominoes Pizzeria across the road! A real shame as the food is good and the Beer selection is great, It was full of Teenagers when I went

Horrible place, theyve just renevated with the money the make from the thousands of poker machines within the bar. Staff are very unfriendly, usually full or redneck idjits
