Primary attractions of this place? Karaoke and gambling.

Since we at SydneyPubGuide.net participate in neither of these activities (apart from Josh's occassional foray into the pokies), the place isn't really for us, but if you feel the need to sing off-key to cheesy 80s pop songs while simultaneously spending your life savings on the Pokies while surrounded by garish flashy lights, then it could be for you.

The name, by the way, refers to it's gambling status - 8 is a lucky number in, correct me if I'm wrong, Chinese tradition, so triple eight should be very lucky indeed, right? Well, maybe, but the clientele certainly seem to be mostly of Asian descent. Perhaps there's something in it?

Anyway, not our cup of tea and not that highly rated, but if you're into that kind of thing....

I used to love this place - but it's a bit low on karaoke singers these days, particularly since it has been a hole in the ground for some months!

Jason says:

I didn't think the place was worth having to submit to the thorough security check. Did they think we were carrying guns or something?
