We've just moved to Pyrmont from Surry Hills, so a survey of the loca pubs is one of the first things we did. The Quarrymans was our venue for Sunday Lunch, and for $10 including a schooner of Coopers really is good value, so I reckon this could be a regular Sunday Roast venue (our previous Roast Venue was the Grand National in paddo about two years back) The Quarrymans is well summed up by the word 'unpretentious' - some of the paint is flaking but it's welcoming all the same. Not as plush as the Harlequin, the Quarrymans is a down-to-earth place with Pokies, TAB, a bistro upstairs, a couple of sofas tucked away at the back and some roadside seating. A big screen is generally showing sport and the bar has enough frontage to get yourself a beer even when it's packed out (which it is at weekends) We quite like it. We'll test the rest and report back!

Well....looks like the owners are almost certainly writing the book "How To Ruin A Pub For Dummies" and following their book to the letter , used to be a great pub now its just a place to pop into for the badge draw and thats it....Most of the other pubs in the area have spent serious cash on upgrading..all that seemed to have been spent here on upgrading is the occasional new beer coasters...do yourself a massive favour and avoid it..everyone else that used to go here is doing the same thing.

It's been my local pub for 4 months when i lived in Pyrmont. Maybe not the best one around, but definitely good atmosphere. Drank my first Sydney beers there, so I've got good memories! And i miss it!

Recently changed hands to the guys at the PBH , fingers crossed they dont employ the same security knobheads as they do there.

Friendliest pub in Pyrmont. Good atmosphere and good food. Always has good clientele, unlike the Kirk which is just across the road, there's always something happening.

Jason says:

Actually, since writing the recent review our experience with this pub has dropped a little. We've run into inconsistent pricing at the bar, and have had one pretty poor Sunday Roast. I'm in two minds about the place now.
