Marble Bar
thoroughly revamped in the Hilton's renovations, ripe for a re-visit

The Hilton, Pitt Street.

(best approach from George Street)

(02) 9266 2000

More pubs in City North >>

The Hilton building was completely changed during '05/'06 and has reopened with more panache, style and glitz than it ever had before. Marble bar is due for a re-review but our sources say it's pretty good. The previous review stays as a monument to how awful the old Marble Bar was in '01, and as a counterpoint to how good it should be since the changes.

I first went to the Marble Bar in 1985 as a young soldier. I returned in 2000 during the Olympics, again with the Army. This time I introduced it's wonders to some young soldiers in my Platoon. It's fantastic. The cover bands are great particularly Chartbusters. Anita & Yolnda are it!.

I love the Marble Bar and have been many times after work. Slide Mcbride used to be awesome. I have not seen many bands in the city able to entertain an after work crowd so well.

I remember going to this bar with Jason, Honestly you would hardly believe how $&$&"Bad" it was, I kept complaining about how my drink tasted like Dirt, but no one would listen. Its the type of place to go if you are on the run, because no one in their right mind would think you've gone in there.

Live Music: Apparently a mixture, but our visit sealed it's fate

Jason says:

Bloody awful. I hated it. Mostly for the fact that it could be so much better if it wasn't so mis-managed

I remember going to this bar with Jason. Honestly, you would hardly believe how $#!*ing Bad it was, I kept complaining about how my drink tasted like dirt, the cover band seemed to be primarily made up of unemployed actors god the singers pants were tacky but no-one would listen. It's the type of place to go if you're on the run, because no one in their right mind would think you've gone in there.
