... well, we're not the biggest fans of Cheers. Josh tells me that a few years back it was a lot more distinctive than it is now, but myself, I can take it or leave it. Sure, it's open really, really, late, but so are a lot of other places with more character. Sure, it's got a few pool tables, but so do a lot of other places.... you get the picture. I think part of it is that I'm really not all that fond of this strip of George Street. But then again, perhaps it's the fact that Cheers really is fairly characterless - you could be almost anywhere. It seems to go through phases - groups of peope adopt it for a while, then move on, to be replaced with another group, and another, and another. You get the occasional backpacker, but really it seem more to be the younger Western Suburbs kids on a night out in the city who gravitate here. Then they move on. Yup it's hard to put your finger on exactly what it is. Take it or leave it. We'll leave it for now.

To Small! Not much room to explore or dance for that matter. Not a place to spend your whole night out in.

Well this "dirty pom" loved Cheers! Found all the staff (bar and door staff alike) very friendly and welcoming, and had many, many good nights here when I was in Sydney in 2002.

You wanna late drink? Then go here. You wanna meet some strange people? Then go here. You wanna decent drink and a nights fun? Then don't go here.

This place is a pile of shite-only good if you are a sad old man who wants to perve on the girls walking down george st. Staff are unfriendly and drinks are shite. What a dive

it's not the best pub in sydney but there's something about it that keeps me coming back here. it's the friendly atmosphere. i always end up making good conversations with tourists and locals alike.

I had a ball here, probably 'cos I was always drunk. Met the sexiest pom here! But have a night at Cheers when you really want to let loose, have no one look at you like you're a blimmin' idiot when you have one pint too many, and dance like Michael Jackson (or his Chimp) and get away with it.

As Jason said, Cheers isn't the best place. Sure, you wouldn't have too many problems finding a worse one, but there are 5 better pubs within 5 minutes walk. Nice for the big-screen video jukebox, but that's about it.

Be careful about guars, they might kick you for sometimes no reason at all but more is coming to disapoint you: the music there is played in cycle.... so don't be surprised to hear some songs 3 or 4 times during one night. Cant' tell anything else except the place might be to someone's likeing but as for me I am done with it.
