Bar Luca

Yes, this place is generally suit city and very busy indeed on Fridays when the office workers down tools and stream in from the surrounding office blocks. The rest of the week has special offers to tempt in weary workers, such as cheap James Squire, Heineken promos and Sausage Sizzles. They're also pretty dedicated to sport and when there's an important game, race or event, you can guarantee it'll be on the big screen at the back of the room.

It's actually the default after-work haunt of Jason and his colleagues, so it's been well reviewed by the pubguide team.

In the back of the bar is a single pool table ($3) and further back a set of pokies in a quiet niche behind the kitchen, which itself is one of the bar's best attractions. We particularly recommend the prawn & chilli pizza. And it's a very early opener too, so call in on your way to work to grab a coffee.

'Schooners' $4 - $5

Jason says:

As I work just upstairs, it's a fairly regular haunt. Food's great, but difficult to get a table, and it's usually crawling with suits
