Darlinghurst

Gay Friendly, late opening and loud

Focussed around the area at the foot of Oxford Street, Darlinghurst is where the Eastern Suburbs meet the city, and the certainly meet with a crash. Usually teeming with life, Darlinghurst attracts a fascinating mixture of people to its pubs, bars, clubs and cafes.

Most of Sydney's gay community is centred around Darlinghurst, and Mardi Gras time sees the streets filled to bursting - just try and get a seat anywhere in the area, we dare you. Aside from the main Oxford Street/Taylor Square nexus, there are some great smaller pubs tucked just off the main road, and many of these are all-nighters. Good luck with the hangover!
